I keep a few of these and I'm slowly creating a dedicated tank for them......BallAquatics raises them too....

What stunning little fish.  Can they tolerate temps in the 82 to 84 degree range?

Hi Liz, they can, but they really prefer cool water.  When the temps get into the high 70's they normally stop spawning and then become sluggish on into the 80's.

They are from the mountains in Myanmar, (formally Burma), where the winter temps drop to near freezing and summer time temps reach the 90's.

Not the best tank mates for Discus, then.  Pretty fish.

I didn't realize that they were so small.  Discus don't bother with anything Cardinal Tetra size or larger.  Angels are another matter.

About an inch tops.  That's what got me started with them, I was hoping they were small enough that they wouldn't eat my dwarf shrimp babies.  No such luck, they are like a pack of wolves when there is live food around.  LOL

They are beautiful fish. Do you have to special order them? I don't think I've seen them in pet stores.

Honestly I've only bought fish 3 times from people that have to ship them to me. I really am starting to prefer it. I get much healthier fish!
