Is the NI salt for your chili or fish tanks?  I am making our first pot of veg/beef soup of the season.  It is one of my specialties.  YUMMMMMMMMM

Give me your recipe for the short ribs, please sir.

I used this one but in the end I did not do the slow cooker. I put it in the oven at 275 for 3 hours. It came out very tender and very good.

I served it with some yellow rice that I cut some hot beef sausage into. I ate good. lol |^|

Got my chili ready myself Jon. The cans of Hormel are stacked and packed ready to go. Was getting Wendy's for Boy Tuesdays after swim school but they're closing for a one month remodel.

I had my heart set on the short ribs.  My supermarket had no short ribs.  Neither did they have shallots.  I talked to the meat man.  He went back into the cooler to see if they had anything to cut them from.  They did not.  He said that most of their meat came in pre-cut and they don't get a lot of "bone in" stuff except for steaks and pork chops.   I told him that I was old and remembered when the side of beef was hanging in the cooler.  He started as a meat cutter back when they were doing that.  I should have thought to ask him for some bones (the bones have the flavor) but I didn't think of it at the time.  I bought some well marbled boneless cut that looked good.  It's ready now.  Just need to make the mashers.

I love my little supermarket but they can't stock what they don't sell, especially something like meat that has a short shelf life.
