I agree Jon.  I've been switching some of my tops with these.  I'm going to get at least the 30 inch and my 75g tank is in need of something, this may be it. LOL

Too Many Fish. Not Enough Tanks.

What I have done in the fish room for tank covers making custom ones using:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sunlite-24-in-x-96-in-Polycarbonate-Clear-Twinwall-Roof-Panel-132506/202091947#.UjxnWMashcY

Cut it to the size of the tank.    Then make your access panel for feeding.  For the hinge I used clear packing tape.  best stuff ever....

No tanks or fish just good friends and allot of fun...

I have used this stuff. The stuff I got from HD was 8 mm thick I think. Eventually I found a thinner, lighter, cheaper version at the Gemplers website:

They do green houses and such.

I cut mine with a circular saw.
I also seal the ends with packing tape to keep out water and food.

Polycarbonate is different from acrylic (plexiglas) in that it filters out UV (like many glasses) and does not warp when exposed to high humidity on one side. Also has a higher melting point and is a bit easier to machine.

I did mine on the table saw.  Cuts it like butter...
