You do realize that that was in the future to when I was doing it?
Even if available it would have slowed those machines to a crawl. Not that they were fast to start with. Cluster computers were "fun" too.

Cobol, not me...dabbled but never pursued it...messed with SQL/databases...

I started with Pascal & Assembly Language.....  My uncle Larry programmed in Cobol for the US Navy.  Not sure what language my uncle Rodger used in the US Army.  Rodger programmed 105MM guns to return fire at incoming mortal rounds in Vietnam and then went on to work on computer systems in NATO missile silos all over Europe after the war.

They were both the best uncles a kid could ever wish for Pauline.  They are both gone now, but I have many happy memories of adventures we shared.  As they were both career military men who had been around the world, you can just imagine the stories they had to tell.
