I've tried a few of those, and stopped trying, because even with the intended labels, etc....after the first few rows the printing wanders off it's target producing worthless labels....

You can do just about anything with Open Office.  I have clients that use it to manage multiple databases and do mail-merge for address labels, another uses it as an accounting system, another uses it for on-the-fly inventory management.

Yep, every bit as good as MS Suite....and IMHO better....it'll read, and covert, about any file format too. ...and it's 'free'....plus open sourced  ;D.
