Good afternoon Ron and everyone. We are back to an average temp 44 degrees under a party cloudy sky with a breeze coming from the south. This is the highest temp that we've had since that freakish 65 degrees day that we had a couple of weeks ago.

I finished my water changes including the turtle tank but while I was doing that the computer that I use to play music and log my water changes died. It is the power supply and I have another one I can swap out. Just have to get on it. It was a very old PC and not my main one.

Hopefully everyone is doing well today and I'll check in a little later.

Hi Ron and Willie, and Barb if she gets her new laptop.  I'm doing about the same as usual.  I ran some errands earlier, warmed up some lunch and will lie down for a nap and back rest before WC.  My young Discus pair that I'm so enamored with spawned in secret while I was napping in the fish room yesterday.  I missed it.  You snooze, you loose.  It's a nice group of eggs though and the TDS is right for hatching but it's their first time so it might work or might not.

Speaking of might work or not, I want to know what you would do Ron and Willie if you were in my shoes.  I already know what Barb thinks.  If the neurosurgeon told you that he could that he could do a surgery that might work, might help a little or might help a me for a while, or not work but won't make me worse what would you do?  I know that I must do something because I can see myself getting worse.  There's always the hard drug option...

Liz, that's a hard question and although my back is not as bad as yours I was advised that I should consider   it before my back gets worse.

Here is what I am thinking:

You said that the procedure may not work but it also won't make you worse. In that case under that scenario I would elect to have the surgery while I still have enough life in me to enjoy it to its fullest in the best case scenario. Even if I can't get the best result there is a good possibility of getting some relief.

If it doesn't work you would be in the same boat that you are in currently and at that point I would go with whatever was available to give me relief including the drugs. The drugs are the last resort because they are so hard to get these days and in some, but not all cases, can be addicting.

Whatever you decide hopefully you can get enough relief so that you don't continue to suffer.

…Liz, I don’t know what to tell you…years ago I had a wrist that was broken and it gives me a lot of arthritic pain ever since…I had a surgeon tell me that he could fuse the wrist bones that “could” possibly help….I asked if he could guarantee the pain would be gone and he said “no”…I said, then I’ll just live with it…and I do…

However, it’s not my back, and I obviously don’t have the back pain that you do…I guess I took the approach that Willie presented when I decided to get my knee replaced…I’m glad I did now…still some stiffness and some aching, but better than before…and pm faced with doing the other knee this year….maybe!😬🤫😩
