Muggy Monday
« on: October 04, 2021, 09:38:39 am »
Good morning everyone. It is a pretty warm and humid morning to start the day. It's currently a cloudy 77 degrees with 75% humidity. We will get up to 80F this afternoon with thunderstorms moving in this evening.

I'm hanging out in the fishroom for the time being and I am just trying to get motivated to do something. I haven't gotten much sleep the last couple of days so I feel a little sluggish. I'll probably take a nap before I start doing some water changes.

I'll check in a little later after I get some more rest.

Good morning Willie.  I hope you feel better after a little snooze.

Yesterday, except for the near constant rain was a strange and interesting day.  I decided that I can't fix Isabel and will have to do the hard deed.  I need to do it outside of course and the rain made that impossible.  The thought of having to do it got me down in the dumps.

Later I got a couple of calls about the Discus I'm parting with.  The first on was from Tammy who partners in her Discus ventures with Cary Strong.  That was a huge surprise and quite a compliment on the quality of my fish.  They want to come this week-end but aren't sure whether or not they'll have to be doing some big deal video so it might be later.  Then another guy who has been emailing about the fish.  He wanted to come get them tomorrow because he has the day off.  It won't work because I have the pain doctor at 2:30 in the afternoon which wouldn't give me time to bag and pack the fish before he headed back.  Nice guy.  He said that it would work out some how.

Today I am cleaning house which I have been threatening to do for over a week know.  My god, those dogs sure do track in a ton of sand that gets mixed with shedding hair.  I still haven't gotten to the bed room and bath room.  The bed room will be the worst bunch of sand and hair because the ones that don't sleep in the bed have their own beds in my room.  No way I'll mop until the weather clears up.

The rest of the day, and perhaps of the week I'll be on hold to the IRS trying to convince them that I didn't make $78,000 in 2020.  Wish me luck.

Looking forward to hearing what Barb and Ron have going on today.
Always move forward. Never look back.

Good morning, gang!...

Looks like it's 81 outside right now and going to 97 with mostly cloudy skies...

Sounds like Willie and Liz have their days planned out...all I know for me is that Lucy has several little projects she wants me to do...I did get the WC on the Congo tank last night, but I didn't wipe down the algae, so I guess I'll get that today...

Funny thing happened Saturday night...My pair of Neolamprologus ocelatta I'd kept still hadn't spawned in a shell, so I packed them up to take to the swapyesterday...as I was sitting at my desk, making out about 65 labels for the items I was selling, something caught my eye in that tank...movement! ???...it turned out that they had spawned and some of the fry were scooting along the aragonite substrate! huh ...so now I have a 20g tank with a few little shellies in it...I was going to convert it to a plant tank, but may have to wait!...

Can't remember if I wrote about cleaning the large Poret Filter Tower I have in the Congo 125...I pulled it out last week one day and put it in a bucket until I could get to cleaning it out...It must have weighed about 20# since it was full of water and detritus...A day later I put on my flip-flops and I took it out back where I have some pavers making a little solid area and turned the hose on it and started doing my Lucille Ball imitation of stomping grapes to make wine!...now it's all clean and dry and I need to get it back into the Congo tank...guess I might do that today! |^| ...

Get a good nap Willie, and sorry about Isabel and the IRS crap, Liz...

Whachya got going on, Barb?...

Happy Aquariuming, all y'all!... 8) 8) 8)

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

Morning Ron.  Congrats on the fry.

I was unable to get through, of course.  I went to their web site and it was of no help.  I finally called my old accountant and the lady there said to bring it all to them and they'd figure it out.  She said that lots of people had been getting those letters.  When  got there she read the letter and it didn't say what I and 2 smart people thought it said.  The $75,00 didn't apply to me.  The letter was telling me that I would not get an $1800. refund, that I never expected to get in the first place.  All that sweat and worry and weak knees over nothing...

The guy from Tupelo called again about my Discus.  He's coming at 10 tomorrow and plans to transport the fish in a large tub for the 3 hr. drive home.  He's a nice guy, in medical school, I think.  I'm good having the fish go to him but I feel kind of bad about them not going to the famous in the Discus world people.

I still have to clean the bedroom and bathroom but then the rest of the day is mine and mine alone.  No more sweating bullets with worry.
Always move forward. Never look back.

Hi Willie, Liz and Ron! I have been gone all day, from 8-almost 4. Helping my mom and then getting some of my health check up business taken care of, that was a 60 mi. round trip to the Marine base where I get most of my care.  They are excellent.  Short wait times, or none at all, excellent Drs, nurses, PA's and others. Many are Navy but some civilians too.   Later today I need to do WC on my discus tank, congrats Liz on the selling of your discus.  Great news about your little shellies Ron and Willie I hope you had a good nap(s).  You all be good...
Barb
