..looks like messy dangerous storms for us......and right up to the time on Sunday morn'n when get ready for the swap......

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 3 AM
CST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...A mix of freezing rain and sleet is likely by mid to late
evening, possibly mixed with snow at times overnight and
Saturday morning. Total ice accumulations in excess of two
tenths of an inch are likely tonight into Saturday morning, with
sleet accumulation also possible. While precipitation may
lighten in intensity Saturday late morning through mid
afternoon, a period of heavy snow is likely late Saturday
afternoon and night. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7 inches
are expected. Northeast winds will gust as high as 40 mph
overnight into Saturday and combined with ice and snow may cause
further impacts.

* WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Illinois.

* WHEN...From 9 PM CST this evening to 3 AM CST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be significantly impacted at times,
especially mid to late evening through early Saturday morning,
and then again later Saturday afternoon into Saturday night.
Some power outages and tree damage are possible due to the
combination of ice and wind. Patchy blowing snow could
significantly reduce visibility later Saturday afternoon and
night.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.

...Getting the new 125 delivered today...gotta do a couple modifications to this monster heavy credenza I picked up to put it on...I plan to get it up and running within the next month...It will be planted using either white or black sand...I hope to try some discus with aldofoi cories in it...

...An interesting note...Liz...there are a number of aquarists here keeping discus in the hard tap water of the area...They seem to be thriving and even spawning...I have yet to learn of any of the spawns hatching, though...My intention, at least at this point, is not to spawn them...I don't want to set up nursery and grow-out tanks...
Even duct tape can't fix stupid ... but it can muffle the sound...and zip ties, properly applied, can reduce the movement!

Hard water is not a problem for keeping Discus.  That's a myth.
