I found out something new today

I found out that mom and I both love drivers license checks.  We got stopped twice today!  Twice!  Imagine that?  In the time mom has owned me we've only been stopped for a check once until today.

The first time we were stopped was right down the road from home by Jones county cops.  Mom's friend Poncho was one of the two guys working it.  Mom though she's get him had had this big grin on her face, but Poncho had to tell the guy in front of her to pull to the side so we got the other guy.   The second time was by Ellisville cops on Hwy 11.  We got a tall guy smoking a cigar.  He said,  "Good looking truck.  It sounds great, too."  It made my day.  I could feel mom's pride for me well up inside her.  She said, "Ah...this truck has my heart."  She didn't say that I'd better sound good after all the money she'd thrown at me.

It's funny how such small things can bring so much joy.

Keep on Truckin'

?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ?Wow! What a Ride!? ~ Hunter S. Thompson

I'm kinda fond of cops.  I guess I'm in a demographic seen as innocent to cops, and my cop friend would drop everything and save me if I called and needed saving.

I got pulled over once for going 50 in a 35 zone. I told the cop, "Hell I've always gone 50 through here, 35 seems awfully slow". I guess he agreed with me, he didn't give me a ticket. I think cops get so tired of hearing pure BS from people all day that some honesty puts them in a better mood.

It's best in all relationships to be honest and fess up when you are wrong, period.
