If I put duck weed in with the aged water would that defeat the purpose of having aged water?

I wouldnt. Think of your water storage container as a operating room, you want to keep out all bacterias good and bad and keep it as sterile as possible.

I agree, leave the duckweed in the tanks....aging water should be as clean/pure as possible.

Aging the water is mainly done to stabilize the pH.  Usually your pH from the tap will be lower than that in your tank. After aggitation in the aging container the pH will stabilize to match that which the fish are in.

Duckweed won't accomplish this.

Thanks everyone, I was thinking that it wouldn't be a good ideal. I'm glad I asked first I would hate to have to dig duckweed out of that water.

I agree with Pauline.  Duckweed won't help the process.  I don't see how it could hurt it, though.  If I wanted duckweed in my WS containers I'd throw it in.
