The Nazca Lines in southern Peru are a group of pre-Columbian geoglyphs etched into desert sands. Covering an area of nearly 1,000 sq. kilometers, there are about 300 different figures, including animals and plants. Composed of over 10,000 lines, some of which measure 30 meters wide and stretch more than 9 kilometers, the figures are most visible from the air or nearby hilltops.

...when I was in graduate courses at a UVA biological station in western Va, a small group of us went home with a gal to their family's cabin on a river in West Va for a weekend...The family was there and we had a great time...in the morning we were at the breakfast table and her Dad was missing and I asked where he went and they told me he'd gone down by the river to mow the grass...then they explained that there was a field of marijuana down by the river that he kept cut down all the time...apparently the Feds were aware of it and they left him alone as long as it was kept from blooming...
