OK, just moved them to a 55 gal this morning. Here's a vid of week 6. They're bigger now and it's easier to see how well they're coloring up. I'm very pleased.....they're gorgeous...

Great news on their growth... They must be looking really good too.
When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.  (Sweatpants & Coffee)

Selecting for yourself is one of the fun parts.  Have fun.

No, but it's the black that I find attractive in Koi...this last cross did the trick, unrelated parents(different lines) so I can sibling cross and work this line a bit more....

I saw the ones you noticed with partly black dorsals and wondered the same thing myself.  Is there such a thing as a half black orange Angel?  It sure 'nuf would be a fun project to nail down a strain like that.

It's been tried, but the gold is recessive, and in double dose, and inhibits certain expressions...the gold marble gene masks some also....I've had spawns ,years ago, where almost all had the back heavily marbled, sold like hot cakes....it's an attraction feature to many, myself included...
