After looking for several years for Rio Tamasopo  Montezumae swordails i have finally given up,and settled on the closes thing i could find.
Montezumae Capuchin,9 juveniles  so not much to look  at now.

Pic of adults from the breeder.

And though my lack of education hasn't hurt me none.

Really nice fish, Greg! Nice score...

I had Montezumaes in the past...can't remember which river the were from though. Swords were fantastic.
Happy Aquariuming,

They are really something to see.
Always move forward. Never look back.

Beautiful Swordtails Greg.  Longest best looking swords I have seen!

Too Many Fish. Not Enough Tanks.

Can't wait till they mature, hopefully i will get an outstanding male to start the colony.
From what i have read the  early developing males will likely end up being smaller,so i will need to separate by sex until i chose the male or males.
A combination of large size and tail lenght is what i will be looking for.

Warning for anyone considering buying from Mobetta  on Aquabid, where i got the swords.
HORRIBLE packing,no styro or heat pack and the temp was 47 degrees when they arrived,so probably upper 30's or lower 40's that morning.

Water temp was about 58-59 degrees on arrival,no telling how cold they actually got.
