My Cat and my Puppy

Pip is the puppy I rescued 10 days ago. She was very young. She still had puppy breath. Xena is my fearless cat who I got 10 years shortly after she had been weaned off the bottle. Her mama died. I don't have any idea how Xena managed it but even since she was little she was the boss of all the dogs. She walked around among them fearlessly from the get go.

I saw something today I had never seen before in my own animals. My middle aged cat was playing with my puppy. Xena tried to get Pip to chase her and Pip did. Then Pip lost her focus and the next thing I see is Xena chasing Pip. They never laid a paw on one another. They were playing a game.
Always move forward. Never look back.

?Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ?Wow! What a Ride!? ~ Hunter S. Thompson
