I always number my pairs and spawns because I like to try to keep track of what happens to them.
Well pair # 116 ( Paraiba/Blue Zebra) just spawned their 16th spawn.  116-16 on 6/16.  That has got to mean something right?  I have never gotten any fry out of this pair.  The spawns I left, they ate. I got some to free swimming, but they never ate and died.  Figure they might be a little small for the BBS so this time I am putting some lettuce in a jar on the windowsill to make infusoria. With that number coincidence this has to be the lucky spawn.

I'm not afraid of work.  I can lay down right next to it and go to sleep.

Yes, It was an omen.  Have a 2-1/2 gallon with a bunch of free swimmers and they are eating BBS.  Not a lot, probably about 50 or so.  I think the infusoria is what got them going. Now I can't wait until they grow up.
