I'm weird about doing dishes, but then I'm weird about most everything. I'm the same way with the laundry.  I don't mind washing dishes and clothes, but putting the dishes away once their in the rack is more I can handle.  What I end up doing, which I know makes no sense, is that the next day, when I'm ready to cook again, I put away the old dishes, wash the dishes in the sink, tidy the kitchen, and cook.  I'm a slob.  Hell, I let 2 chickens sleep in the house.

Howdy Liz.  It's funny what tires us out isn't it?

I can work outside or on the bikes, even do house work, but about 15 minutes of dish washing just kills my back.  I haven't figured it out unless it's just the standing in one spot.

Today's news; My grandson wants me to teach him how to be a computer systems engineer.  I told him he needed to be a bit more specific and we settled on doing website work.

I'm looking forward to it.  He's a great kid, as sweet as the day is long.

It's still raining here and forecast to continue through tomorrow.  MotoGP is racing in Texas this weekend.  The only race here in the states as we won't fix our tracks to make them safe.  Oh well, that's what I'll be doing on a rainy Friday, watching a day of practice for the races on Saturday and Sunday.

Night all...

It's cloudy and drizzly right now, but the sun will appear later and most of the afternoon will be mostly sunny with a high in the 70's.

Yesterday I got my SS check and paid a shit load of bills.  One left, a $40. water bill that I will drive up the road and pay today.  It's yet to be seen if I can make it for the rest of the month on the $200. I have left.  I may well make it without having to buy horse feed.  God knows, I have a pile of meals packed away and in the deep freeze so I won't starve.

I also plan to pick up some pork heart which I'll use to make my main fish food with.  Boe's is mid way between my house and the water company.

That's about it for today.  It would be nice to be able to do some house cleaning, but I don't know that I'll have the energy.  Cooking always wears my body out, and yesterday I made a beef stew that involved a lot of prep work.  I could never figure out why that was since I could do so much sitting on my hydraulic stool with wheels and pushing myself around the kitchen rather than having to stand and walk.  I discovered that even wheeling myself around on the stool took a toll on my back.  It was a hard night last night so I might end up doing little else today.

I'm cheerful, though,  All the fish are healthy and happy.  Dogs are fine, chickens are an entertaining PITA, Cat has been quite affectionate lately, and Charlotte has no idea of what is coming in the short time ahead.

Dennis, you are so lucky to be able to start new projects.  Enjoy yourself.

Yeah, Barb, the weather is terrible but I don't worry about the weather.  The phone when off this morning with a tornado watch or warning, but it's just been rain and thunder so far.  I think the worst of it is gone, but I may be mistaken.

Here's a little funny.  There was big wind, rain and thunder.  It sounded like a tree had fallen on a building.  I was busy making a beef stew and I didn't want to go out in the rain and check.  When it happened a second time. I realized that what I thought was a tree on a roof was my washer which had gone off balance.

THE LOUNGE / Another Hump Day
Last post by wsantia1 - April 10, 2024, 02:55:03 PM
Good afternoon everyone. Hopefully you all are well. It is a beautiful day here with the temp around 75 degrees under partly sunny skies. In previous years I would be in the park walking Kobe around but I think that I will be cutting out the afternoon walk because it will be too much for him. It's almost too much for him to walk around the sub-division.

There is not much else going on around here so I spent some time running errands and doing fishroom work.

Tomorrow my installer will be going to the flooring place to pick up my my flooring and bring it back to my house. I will put it in the garage so my car will be on the driveway.

I have to make sure that the car is locked and I that I don't leave anything in it overnight. While I live in a safe neighborhood, unlocked cars are some of the easiest targets for car thefts and break-ins around here.

Once the flooring is installed I'll make sure that I post some pics. Have a great evening folks.

I talked to Judy about Charlotte yesterday.  She doesn't see her every day like I do.  When she came down last week she said that she could tell that Charlotte had gone downhill.  Even last year when the vet came to float Chalottes's teeth, he said that she only had a couple of years left for me to do it before she was in pain.

However because of all this plus the fact that I can no longer afford her, and although I have done my best with her I wish I'd been able to give her a better life.  A single horse needs a buddy.  It's most often another horse, but with a lone horse, it has to be her owner.  Until recently I've been able to brush her and be her friend, even though I could no longer ride her.  But I haven't been able to do anything but keep her fed since last year.  It's obvious.  It's the right time.

Hi Barb.  It's wet here too.  The temps are up though so it feels like spring!

Going to use some of the lumber I've milled to build a cold frame.  I've got some stuff to go outside, but it can't go in the ground yet...

That is sad news Liz.  I haven't got another dog because my heart is still broken over the loss of the last one.

You can only do what you know is right for you and Charlotte.  I'll be thinking of you both.
