Title: Friday greetings
Post by: Barb on May 20, 2022, 06:03:54 AM
Well, # 2 post here.  The first one disappeared, and I know I didn't hit a wrong button. Dennis if you read this, any idea what is going on?  It is happening to all of us, more frequently.  Makes me hesitant to type much since it may just go away before I get to "post".

Anyway I read the last 2 days posts, lots going on I see.  Good luck with your new guppies Willie, new fish are always fun, if they are healthy that is.  Liz so sorry about your AC. Hope it is fast and cheap to fix.  My Glads you sent are all doing well, and putting up nice healthy green leaves, about 12" tall already. Will let you know when they bloom .

Ron that is quite the plant business you have going.  And lots of other neat stuff to keep you busy and happy.  Good for you!  I try to do the same.  But with gas approaching $5 a gal, my love of driving is really curtailed.  I try to just stay local now.  But on a good note, the other day I got NY strip steaks for $8 lb so I bought 4.  It was about $16 for 4 steaks, a bargain these days!  Have a good weekend all,
Barb

Hi Barb, Willie and Ron later.  Barb, if you're having a lot of trouble posting how about typing what you want to say in Microsoft Word then copying and pasting it here.  Not a perfect solution but a good one.

I've feeling much better today than I felt yesterday.  Yesterday I felt that everything was hitting me at once.  I had a wonderful night's sleep in my beautifully cool bedroom thanks to Shawn's machine.  I always sleep well but I feel much more rested this morning that I usually do.  I must have thought about the AC in my sleep because this morning I'm pretty sure that it's a minor electrical problem of some type.  It doesn't even try to hum when I turn it on as though it's not getting juice at all.  I think it's some kind of relay or maybe an internal circuit braker that I don't know about.

Stubby is actually walking on his hurt leg.  I was so sure it was a torn ligament but maybe not.  The leg still hurts him and he's still taking it easy like he should but walking on the leg after not even toe touching before gives me a lot of hope.

I have a new pair of Discus!  They were trembling and cone pecking this morning so I moved them to a love nest.  Would you believe that I almost took these guys to the LFS.  I was about convinced that they were all the same sex.  I don't expect much from a first spawn but I'm all set up with a pitcher of RO hanging inside their tank.

It's a lovely clear morning but it will get hot again later.  I think I'll give the hens their treat early while it's nice.  I missed yesterday.  Didn't even do a head count.  They'll be happy to see me today.

Have a good day everyone.  Keep your fingers crossed for the AC.

Good morning Bar, Liz, Ron and everyone. It seems like we went from winter to summer in one week. Last week I had a winter jacket on for 39 degree temps in the morning. Today I'm wearing shorts and a loose fitting summer shirt as I get ready for temps in the high 80s today and in the 90s over the weekend. What happened to spring?

Liz I am happy to hear that Stubby is doing better and I am also happy to report that Kobe is much better and hasn't had an accident in two nights. I need to keep my eye on him because he is trying to catch up on his missed meals by "trying to eat everything" he can fit into his mouth. huh

The guppies I got look really good and I moved one trio into and existing tank last night. The other trio are in a tank I set up on the fly that has only about 3 gallons of water in it. I have a new spot that I am going to move it to.

Have a great day everyone.

It's 89 degrees but the feels like temp is 97F. This has been a harsh transition to the warmer weather. huh

Willie, got you beat here, it is over 100 with the heat index.  Very unpleasant out there but I have things to do outside anyway.  Like watering. Liz is your AC fixed?

My AC is not fixed.  The person who Shawn suggested I call didn't answer my call or my voice mail.  There is no excuse for that.  In the morning I'll call the guy I found on Google who has his business in Moselle.

I have a high tolerance for heat.  My bedroom is the coolest room in the house.  It only gets a touch of filtered sunlight in the morning.  Otherwise it's in full shade. With Shawn's lovely portable machine when I need a break from the heat of the afternoon I just take my afternoon nap with the dogs that are also in the mood for taking a nap and getting cool.

Bruno keeps on feeling better.  He's feeling too much better for his own good.  This afternoon I caught him running and playing wrestle with his doggy friends.  Tomorrow I'll stick him in a cage for a couple of hours.  I hate to have to but if I don't he's going to injure the hurt part more.  He can't but help it.  He's an exuberant dog to begin with and loves nothing more than running and playing with his friends.  He's the best guardian, too.  In door open weather he sleeps with the front of his body outside the house and the back side inside.  He's a cutie pie, too.  The girls at the vet hospital all fell in love with him.  I'll have to post a pic.

Hi gang!...it was another warm day here, but I was inside all day and didn't get to the pool...we started picking and bagging at 11 and finished about 4...then I did my inventory count and update...and at 5:30 the young high school kid came over and boxed them for shipping...when I'm on my feet like that all day it really works on my feet, knees, and back...so I just took it easy the rest of the Evening...

About 2 weeks ago I noticed a female Apisto aggazzi had a few fry under her...hard to see because that tank is above my line of vision...I haven't paid any attention to them, and yesterday I was pulling plants from that tank and there was a young one about 3/4" long in there!...my poor fish have to deal with me disturbing their habitat all the time, yet still produce!... :D

It sounds like Liz's and Willie's dogs are getting better...that's good news...Liz, I hope your AC only needs a minor fix...

Barb, we're thinking about our next trip now...it may be down to Tombstone or Bisbee, both kinda historic tourist towns and fun...it's less expensive than flying, so we'll just buy the gas, huh...

I hope all of you are having a good night's sleep and wake fresh and rested in the morning... ;D ;D ;D

Hi Barb, sorry you're having problems.  I'll start looking over the error logs to see if there is anything listed there.

I was thinking along the same lines Liz!  If it takes too long to get the post completed, the web server will do what's called a "time out", where it believes you are no longer connected to the site.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
