Title: Sunny Thursday
Post by: wsantia1 on May 19, 2022, 09:09:55 AM
Good morning everyone. After an all night rain I woke up to what's going to a beautiful day here. It is currently 62 degrees under sunny skies with a forecasted high of 82 degrees this afternoon. I addition to that Kobe had a good night so that makes for a great start to the day.

I got a guppy delivery from Arkansas yesterday via USPS priority mail that was originally scheduled for delivery today. They were sent out on Monday so it only took two days from shipping to delivery like old times. That is unusual these days.

Needless to say I wasn't fully ready for the guppies since I hadn't finished setting up their new quarters.  I put something together on the fly and they are doing fine. There was also 3 fry that were newly born on the trip. I suppose any other fry born were eaten in route.

Today is small tank cleanup day so I'll have these guys all situated in a couple of hours.

Have a great day everyone.

I'm so happy that Kobi is doing better.  Stubby is the same but he's enjoying the extra attention I'm giving him and the treats I give him his meds in twice a day.

More bad news for me yesterday...I turned on the AC for the first time yesterday and it didn't come on.  Jack can't do it because he's old and sick.  He'd be here in a minute 5 years ago and figure out what was wrong.  Once he had a going business as a heat and AC repair man.  He had to give it up when he started working for the power plant down the road.  He worked his way up and he ended up running the place.  Shawn is back from the oil rig.  He got in yesterday.  I don't know if he knows anything about central AC's or not.  He's working on the road down to the woods right now.  He's taken the chain saw and is cutting and moving the trees that fell across the road.  I'll send him a text and aske him to come down and see if he can figure out my problem.

The power went off yesterday evening.  When it started to get dark I started worrying about the fish getting enough O2 in this heat.  I'd just started to crank up the generator when it came back on.

Today is Coq au Vin day.  I had to go out for wine because I'd drunk up what I had left.  I also picked up 10 lbs of chicken leg quarters 'cause I have to make more dog food tomorrow.  I've been getting my money's worth out of my pressure cooker lately.

Liz I am glad to read that Stubby is doing better but no a/c really sucks. I hope Shawn can get it running again soon.

Kobe is enjoying the extra attention at medicine time too. Lol

My boring news...

Shawn wasn't able to figure out more than I could.  He did loan me a portable AC unit that he put in the bedroom window for me.  That little roll around unit can make it cooler than I need it.  I took the dogs in with me and turned it to 68.  That's 2 degrees cooler than I usually set the central unit to.

He checked with his friends and neighbors around here and just texted me the name and number of a guy to call.  I'll call him tomorrow and pray that it's something inconsequential in the mean time.

I would swear that I wrote here yesterday, but I sure don't see it... :( I must not have tapped "post"...

We had a nic 3 day getaway all the way up to Scottsdale which is a 40 minute drive from here!... ;D...Tuesday was a pool day and dinner at Talking Stick Casino in a restaurant named Tash...delicious...yesterday was a meet up with Stan and Barb at the Odysea Aquarium for the afternoon...it is a nice aquarium with no crowding because you get your tickets online for a specific time of day...

The drive home today was uneventful...a good thing...now we're thinking about our next trip somewhere |^|...

I'm glad your dogs are improving, Willie and Liz...

I got in an order of plants after we got home and got most of them in water now... I hope we ship out a bunch tomorrow...

The male  blue gularis I got over the weekend is absolutely beautiful...his colors blend in nicely with the 3 species of rainbows in the same tank with him...

Time to head over to the clubhouse parking lot to see if we want anything from the food truck there tonight...have a great evening, folks...
