Title: A Nice Saturday
Post by: wsantia1 on October 02, 2021, 05:31:51 AM
Good morning everyone. I am up early as usual and getting ready to the park as soon as the sun comes up. It is a chilly 47 degrees now but it is supposed to get up to 77 with plenty of sunshine by this afternoon.

I don't have much on the agenda today so I'll probably just do some more catchup work in the fishroom until something comes up.

Well my Black Ram pair spawned again yesterday and so far the eggs look fertile. I have about 12 fry left from the last fertile spawn and they are about a month old. I suppose that I'm getting better. huh

I do have a dilemma in that on October 23 I have to leave for New York to attend another wedding. This time I'm just a guest.

I'll have to figure out how to feed the fry while I'm gone. I don't think any of my neighbors will be able to handle that. huh

I may try to get a hold of some vinegar eels. They are aquatic.

Have a great day everyone. |^| |^| |^|

Hi Willie and Ron and Barb later if she has time after her visit to relatives.  I've been busy today until now.  Earlier this morning a couple of guys came buy to pick up the wrecked truck.  I sold them both Charlotte and the wreck I bought for parts last week and after some negotiations I sold them for what I needed to get and not a penny more.  They said it would take another week before they could come up with the last $50. but once they agreed to my price I said we had a deal.  I was afraid that they would take both trucks apart and sell them as parts, but no...They plant to get Charlotte the truck back to the pristine beauty she has the potential to be.  It was the dad that did the talking but it was his son who wanted the truck.  The dad is the nephew of my mechanic.   They were very nice folks and I wish them luck with my old friend Charlotte.

Then it was the feed store for Charlotte the horse...now the sole Charlotte.  They had some multiplying onions that I was hoping to find since I have a bit of room left in one bed.  Then to the fish store to check on my Discus pair.  The guy in charge while Twee and Ken are on vacation is a real fish guy.  He changes their water twice a week which is a big deal because they only do once a week on their other fish.  For a general pet store they really understand the value of a beautiful huge breeding pair and do their best to care for them.  Then off to the other direction to the supermarket so I would have something to eat.

I spent a lot of time putting Isabel's butt back together between the main things.  I don't know that I'll be able to fix her this time.  Every time she shits her insides are on the outside.  I'll keep trying for another week.  She has become almost a pet and it will be hard on me if I have to do her in.

Now I'm just chilling for an hour until WC time.

Willie, I wish I knew what your were doing wrong that you don't have more ram fry live.  Will you try anything different with this new batch?

Ron have fun and great success at the swap.

Hi eveyone!  It has been another nice day here, but dry again.  Hurricane Sam is out in the Atlantic, I was hoping he would pass by and drop some rain, but no wind.  But he is too far offshore.  I had a good visit with relatives at the beach and got home awhile ago.  For the past 3 days I have done no hard yard work. But tomorrow that changes, I start moving mulch around the yard, by wheelbarrow.  Need to get it done before rain finally gets here.

Good luck at the swap Ron, and good luck with your chicken Liz, and good to hear you sold the trucks.  Willie, another wedding?  You have been to several this year I think?  Hope the fry do OK while you are gone.
Micro worms??

Barb I ordered some vinegar eels. Microworms are not aquatic so they die in around 24 hours. Vinegar eels can live 10 or more days in fresh water. This wedding is for my niece and I'm just a guest.

Howdy folks.

Willie, I always had good results with daphnia and/or moina.  They are a bit fiddly to get the hang of, but are great for feeding fry as they live in fresh water too!

Hi Dennis. Thanks for this wonderful info. I skimmed through it mostly but once I get my early morning stuff done I am going to take a deeper dive into it. It sounds like just what I need.
