Title: Hot Sunday
Post by: wsantia1 on July 19, 2020, 06:01:44 AM
Good morning everyone. Yesterday I made a day trip to NYC for my youngest granddaughter's third birthday party. Not many people were invited and we had a great time despite following the Covid-19 protocols. I got back late last night and I am already up and at em this morning.

It is going to be a hot and muggy day here. It is currently 73 degrees but it will get up to at least 95 degrees with 90% humidity. Needless to says I will be inside most of the day.

Everybody stay cool and I'll be checking in a little later.

Good morning Willie, how far are you from NYC?  I assume you drove?  Glad you had a good time.  Your weather today is the same for us, it is already 78 here, only 8am.  And wringing wet humidity of course.  Ron is so fortunate to have that low.

I have things to do today, mostly indoors of course.  My pond looks much better since I cleaned all the green slimey algae out of the filtlers.  This all day sun and high heat on the pond make the stuff grow so fast.  And I have a UV light for the pea soup stuff.

Good morning Barb. My daughters house is exactly 171 miles from my house. Including side stops and detours I drove about 350 miles yesterday.

Morning you two, and Ron later.  I was out a 7 with the pruners and chain saw.  I only worked for an hour out of respect for my poor back that has been taking a beating.  Progress is definitely being made.  I can get in to what were impossible places before to round up.  Still have a lot more left to do, but I'll get it done little by little.

As soon as the sweat on me dries and I'm cool again, I'll sit outside in the shade for a bit.  If I feel well enough I'd love to get in a little more mowing.

I wasn't quite ready to get back to it but I saw the sun starting to take over the parts that I wanted to mow, so I did it.

I can't mow more until I pick up all the piles of debris I cut and haul it to the burn pile.  I can't do that until I get the load of mulch out of the truck.  I can't do that until the shade comes back to the blueberries where it's going.  We shall see how much of it I'm able to get done tomorrow morning.  Right now, at 9:29 I'm ready for a beer.

...got sidetracked yesterday with a bit of running around...one of the stops we made was at the Mesa Mart Swap area...really just a glorified flea market...and picked up 36 new decks of playing cards....we got tired of playing with all those unmatched decks!...isn't that the epitome of something?...I don't' know what, but it is something...! |^|...also went t an LFS and picked up 6 Otocinclus...and a side trip to Schlotsky's for a sammich |eat|...then a game of Samba....we lost :( ??? :-[ :'(

...I have about 200 shrimp in my 5g...going to take some to a friend today after lunch...then meet up with our club "storekeeper" and pick up some cichlid pellets and donate $$$ to the club...also dropping off a 2-burner grill at a friend's...I don't use it and it's a good little grill...

...later on this evening...waterchange in the Congo tank...

...have a good rest of your day...
